As I browsed this week’s news articles, I have found this interesting display of artwork featured in juxtapoz.com. Two distinct creative expressions are mashed up to form a unique type of masterpiece. I consider Canadian artist Susy Oliveira a genius for combining the art of sculpture and photography in her artwork collection of outstanding 3D sculptures.
At first glance, you might think it is something made out of wood or special type of rock. But then it is actually what the artist considers as “a compromise between sculpture and photography.”
Seeing the sculpture of the man lying on the floor would not give me any hint at all that it was made out of photographs presented in a pixilated manner as manipulated with two and three-dimensional collage. Indeed the Toronto-based artist Susy Oliveira made a remarkable masterpiece made possible by her creative ingenious.
On July 5, Susy Oliveria will be participating in the 2012 Tropical Contact High, collaborative exhibition with Lauren Hall, Erin Stump Projects in Toronto. They have not provided details which of her particular masterpieces will be on display. But I think it will be an amazing display of creative works.
